Maps and Mayhem

Chris has finally got his head round google maps and has plotted the route. Now all he needs to do is get it embedded into the correct page. He has also got his backside in gear and has booked his next set of injections.

He is also thinking about doing a test of the projectors and laptops but isnt sure he feels that powerful!

Sign Writing

This still needs to be done but we haven’t got as far as intended… Some basic designs have been done but it may just come down to fablon cut into letters for the web address.

Air Horns

Bloody Air Horns!!!! Chris regrets the price he paid for the SINGLE missile fire “Mad Max” switch and should have gone for a bank of them.

Having found some air horns Colin has now fitted and tested them. They play Dixie (the dukes of hazard car tune) and are loud enough to get his neighbours out of their houses to see what is going on.

Whilst Colin is now keen to weld the doors up so we really look like the Dukes Of Hazard Chris is looking for Daisy Duke (admittedly through fingers over his eyes!)and is mubbling Bloody Air Horns continually

Fuzzy Felt

From discussions with other teams, that have previously completed the challenge, we have been advised that covering the dash with felt will reduce glare when driving. Chris is currently looking to see what his grubby little paws can find.

Ten Four Good Buddy

“Right if we can only talk to each other through the desert it is going to get boring quickly as there are only so many games of eye spy you can have with something beginning with s, what are we going to do?” (if your interested or not following the plot s is for sand).

From this we looked at CBs (not big in Africa) and Walkie talkies and quell surprise ebay came to the rescue again. Chris was dissuaded from getting the sets with throat mikes and 50 mile range not only because he was going to have to ship them from china but also they weren’t cheap. The team has settles on a set of 4 handheld units that run on rechargeable batteries and look pretty cool.

The units have arrived and the picture was taken very carefully by the seller, they are tiny and look far too flimsy but they do pick up one of the taxi firms in Portsmouth.

Website Rebuild

Version 2 of the website is live. We have dropped all ideas of making it flashy and have gone for just getting the dam thing working. Comments are welcome and if relevant (and easy) will be acted upon.

You Fat B@stards

Ok so we aren’t the lightest of chaps and the load is looking larger and larger so we need to do something about the suspension. What would be idea is decent racing shocks like Koni or Spax… but this is way beyond what we have available. To this end we are currently trying to raise sponsorship from the shock manufacturers in the form of a free set ;) No luck yet
